In a recent FOX News interview, American President Donald Trump said he’d find a Canadian Liberal government easier to deal with than a Conservative one because federal Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre has said “some negative things”.
Poilievre responded by bragging about how “tough” he’d be on Trump, commenting that new Liberal Leader Mark Carney would leave Canada “weak.” (Ever notice that Conservatives spend half their time trying to prove how tough they are?)

The funny thing is, Trump and Poilievre didn’t start dissing each other until former Liberal prime minister Justin Trudeau stepped down and Liberal polling numbers started improving. I think maybe the Trump administration is pulling a reverse-psychology campaign.
Sounds paranoid? Consider that, until recently, the federal Tories were singing from the MAGA hymn book. Poilievre would use Trump-like phrasing; Trump would praise the Canadian Tories and Poilievre.
Consider also that many Canadians in the Tory base admire the MAGA movement. At a recent press conference, a reporter asked Poilievre about rumours that he’d directed Tory MPs to stop wearing MAGA gear and Poilievre gave a vague answer about putting “Canada first.”
The logic of the Trump team would go something like this: Canadians hate Donald Trump, so let’s pretend that Trump hates Poilievre and prefers Carney so that Canadians will vote Tory in the upcoming election. Don’t be fooled by the Trump-Poilievre peeing contest.

Until a few weeks ago, those two sounded enough like each other to make many Canadians nervous
Petra Seyffarth, Regina
Poilievre can’t be trusted
Once again we see these Reformers, pretending they are Conservatives, going against the wishes of the oil industry. Poilievre’s lies about the Carbon Tax are disgusting.
A study was done in 2006 that proved that 70 per cent of the air pollution from Fort MacMurray was drifting into Saskatchewan and Manitoba and was having an effect on your lakes, streams and soil.
The Alberta conservative government began working with our oil executives us to develop a plan to try to do something about it. Caps were placed on production and a carbon tax was considered knowing it was working well in other countries.
Former prime minister and former Reformer Stephen Harper refused to implement it. But former prime minister Justin Trudeau and former Alberta premier Rachael Notley worked together with our oil executives and got it implemented.

Showing no respect for our children and grandchildren for what global warming could do to their wellbeing down the road. This is same Poilievre who showed no respect to the citizens of Ottawa with his praise of the Convoy Truckers and didn’t care they left behind millions of dollars in damages.
Where is the intelligence in that?
