Maria Shriver contends her son Patrick Schwarzenegger is nothing like his character Saxon Ratliff on Season Three of “The White Lotus” — except for one of his habits.

Shriver tells TODAY.com that Schwarzenegger is guilty of turning on a blender at odd hours of the day.

“The only thing Patrick does do like Saxon is push the button on the Vitamix,” she says, adding her younger son, Christopher Schwarzenegger, also has the bad habit.

“Both my boys are like, you know, it’s quiet in the morning and then, ‘Boom!’ That blender goes off, and I’m like, ‘Really? Really?'” Shriver recalls through laughter.

“He and his brother, both, are like, ‘Zzt,’ and early,” she says, mimicking the sound of a blender. “It’s the worst. I’m just, like, ‘Excuse me?’ And they’re like, ‘What? It’s just the blender.’ I’m like, why doesn’t somebody make a quiet blender? I don’t know why they don’t do that.”

Shriver, who is promoting her new poetry book, “I Am Maria,” jokes that she should have titled the collection “I Am Patrick’s Mom,” due to all the attention her son has been getting for his role on “The White Lotus.”

“Everybody wants to know what it’s like to be Patrick, or is Patrick like Saxon? No, he’s not. Is Patrick really a wonderful person? Yes, he is,” she says. “What did I think of his bare butt?”

During Shriver’s TODAY appearance April 1, the day her poetry book was published, co-anchor Craig Melvin asked if she has to get up and leave the room while watching some of the scenes.

“Well, I’ve seen his butt before, so,” she said with a grin. “It’s just gotten bigger.”

She tells TODAY.com the amount of questions has been overwhelming, but that she’s proud of her son.

“I’m happy for him because he’s worked so hard. He takes acting classes all the time, and for every role like this you get, you’re rejected like 300 times. You have to be resilient. You have to stay at it. And he has really stayed at it. And he’ll have to stay at it after this. He’s got to have life after ‘White Lotus,’ but his life during ‘White Lotus’ is pretty wild.”

In this season of the hit HBO show, Schwarzenegger portrays an entitled finance bro who works for his father’s business in North Carolina. The Ratliff family is vacationing in Thailand to help Saxon’s sister, Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook), complete her college thesis — or so she says.

About halfway through the season, Piper reveals she actually wanted to travel to the country to visit a monastery to meet a monk she wants to study under for a year, all while her dad, Tim (Jason Isaacs), learns there is a warrant out for his arrest back in the U.S.

The fate of the Ratliffs will be revealed during the finale April 6, and Shriver says she believed she would be able to watch the last episode with her son.

“I thought I was watching it with Patrick and all his friends, and I changed my book tour to be home, and then he announced to me the other day that they’re doing a ‘White Lotus’ working thing that I’m not invited to,” she says. “I said, ‘Well, then I just guess I’ll do my own finale party with your friends, without you.'”

Shriver says her son told her he would love to be there with her and that he was sorry, but she’s still worried for his character in the finale.

“I’m really hoping he doesn’t get killed,” Shriver says.
