Football match SUSPENDED due to ongoing police incident

The match, between Oxford FC and Portsmouth FC, kicked off at 12.30pm today at the stadium in Grenoble Road, Littlemore.

However, police have confirmed the match has been suspended due to an incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We are currently assisting South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and Oxford United Official with a medical emergency in the North Stand at the Kassam Stadium.

“We would ask those at the game to please not post any footage or images from the incident.

“The game against Portsmouth FC is currently suspended.”

  • Update – Police have confirmed the game has now resumed. A spokesperson said: “The game has now resumed, and we’d like to thank everyone at the ground for their understanding while this was dealt with.”
